It means that your cat "talks" or howls, meows, yowls...you get the point.
Some cats just like to make noise....Siamese are notorious for this. Cant really explain why. Maybe some do it for attention. Maybe because they are in pain, or, I think they do it because they like to hear themselves.
If it doesn't bother you and the cat isn't in distress, let them howl. I used to laugh my butt off at my cat when he would talk to me......it was pretty funny.

This is mostly found in female cats, and it means that they are Loud, talkative, sometimes very demanding kitties. It can also mean that you have an un-spayed female who is "in-heat", calling for a mate---this one is the WORST! It's the worst because it goes on non-stop for 10 days to 2 weeks---just one MORE good reason to have your "ladies" spayed. Hope this has given you an idea of what "too vocal" means. And, YES, "Snowbird" is correct that the Siamese are right at the top of the list for this over-vocalization. I also believe that the like to hear themselves "talk".

Just what it sounds like. Most cats tend to be a bit quiet vocally but occasionally you will run into one like my Sophie who just talks, talks and talks. They talk from the quietest little squeak all the way up to ear piercing yowls. Here's a little FYI for you: Dogs have 10 communication sounds. Cats have over 110 communication sounds! Mind trip, huh?
Meow!

wait till your cat starts yowling for you to go to bed and gets argumentative when you say no.my smudge (adul tom cat) has seperation anxiety put is very willing to talk to us and tell us bedtime. his kitten is getting into the same habit so we get naggedat as thy sleep in the living room. i believe cats have many different communication sounds and i can recognise most of my cats meows, chirps, growls, hisses yowls and each of the two cats (mother and father) and kitten sound completely different to each other so i also know who is 'talking'

Incessant howling/meowing that is disruptive to those around the cat or the cat itself.

My 2 cats are the same way. With them it just means they are PISSED OFF! Other times they are upset about something.

It means that it will yowl at volume and dizzying frequency until you want to cause it actual physical harm even though you had previously been a fervent animal rights activist...

It means they're noisy and like to "talk" (meow) a lot. Siamese are notorious for this behavior.
