I to have a VQ35 its a great motor. Change your oil and filter every 3000 miles. Some VQ's burn oil so check your oil levels. Use quality oil and oil filters. If you plan on staying with a dino oil use Castrol GTX. But if you plan on swithching to Synthetic which I recommend, wait until 10,000 miles to make the switch. Mobil 1 provides the best level of protection out of the other synthetics found at discount stores, such as Wal-Mart and auto part chains. The best oil out there by far, for the VQ35 is Amsoil its pretty expensive but its worth the price. Use a good quality oil filter such as WIX or Use Nissan Oil Filters. NO NOT USE FRAM OR ANY OTHER CHEAP FILTER. They have cardboard intenals which can collapse and destroy your motor. Wash and wax as much as you can. USE ONLY PREMIUM GAS!!!!! And follow the maintance schedule.

Congrats man you now have one of the top ten engines in the world for 13 years straight in your car. What you have to do is make sure you do its regular maintenance such as change the oil when its time. Also I would say put premium gas in it meaning 91-93 octane not that 87 crap trust me I have this same engine and it will harm it. As long as you do these and the other regular maintenance that is ad viced in the owners manual book your car will last you a long time trust me I have 145,000 miles on mine it it still runs as great as day one. Well hope this helps

With regular maintenance and the use of premium fuel, the only problem you will find is how to spend the money you saved from not having to repair it. The VQ35 is a great engine when maintained properly and you should never have a problem with it, just make sure to grab your maintenance book thats in with your owners manual and perform the maintenance that it suggests.

You purchased one of the very best engines made. You purchased a $25,000+ car your warranty should last 100000 miles extended warranty. Wash exterior often wax every 6 months or so use a vacuum to clean the interior and damp cloth to clean seats and dash. Change oil every 3,500 miles with the best petrolium oil you can afford. Use full synethic oils and change every 5,000 miles. Follow the directions in the owners manual. And Yes Please read the owners manual and place mark the things you'll need clock reset maintence chart ect.
