We eat a lot of fresh asparagus, but my favourite way to prepare it is: BBQ roasted with balsamic vinegar, thyme, rosemary, a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper. Done in a foil dish (no washing up) over 200 C. It is just as good in an oven. I usually do a dish of asparagus, a couple of cloves of garlic, golden eschallots, quartered zucchini and for the last 5 min, minature vine tomatoes. YUMMMMMM goes well with any red meat dish.
But..... after eating it, can you smell asparagus when you do a number one?

I make sugared asparagus it easy and yummy, you put 2 cups of chicken broth in a saute pan with 1 cup of brown sugar and stir, then add your asparagus and cook on med-low for 20-25 minutes or until tender, then remove from the sauce and serve . Hope you like it if you make it.

i have a theory that many people hate vegetables because their moms/grandmas didnt know how to cook them. when cooking a steak would you boil or steam it? of course not. veggies are the same way. you have to apply the right heat for them to become as savory as they truly are. lightly coat that lovely asparagus in olive oil, grey salt and fresh pepper and grill for a minute a side. if no grill available roast it in a toaster oven at 400 degrees for five minutes. a flame is the key to making veggies delicious.

Take one azz, one pare, and one guy named Gus, cut them up into 1 inch cubes and steam the crap out of em in a large collander or steamer. Add chili or curry powder to season. Let stand several minutes to cool, product is hot. Bon Appetite!
