God gave us free will and we choose our own course of action with its consequences.
God also created an ordered universe. The sun rises and sets each day etc. We are powerless to change it. All our actions have consequences. If I put my hand in the fire then I get burned. If I take drugs I addle my brain. If I have no food I starve. As I see it, it is not that God lets people suffer; it is that people , for whatever reason, do not or can not, follow the laws of nature and thereby, suffer the consequences. Think of the kind of world we would live in if God listened to the prayer of the reveller who never wanted the night to end. We would be at the mercy of any human whim and they could also be diametrically opposed to each other and also to our personal wishes. What a recipe for chaos We suffer when we contravene the laws of nature, with or without knowing it. If I go into a wild beast's habitat, my ignorance of his being a carnivore will not save me.
I hope this has been some help. It takes a lot of thought and a real willingness to look at ideas with an open mind. I am still seeking.

God still love us men even we starve to death. it is the cruelty of the greedy that makes his fellowman starve to death but that is not the will of God. But even so, God has His rewards for all the sufferings we experience in this life. A God that cannot lie (Titus 1:2) promised eternal life where there is no more hunger, diseases, etc. to all of those who do good especially the poor (Matthew 5:2-4)

Humans suffer for one reason only - because of their thoughts. If they perceive the situation that they are in as negative, then it will cause suffering.
I live in the poorest country in Africa, and I can tell you that many of the people here living on less than $1 a day are happier than most Americans I know. They don't have running water, they live in mud huts with dirt floors, they never eat out or go to the movies, they walk everywhere and can't even dream of owning a car - in short they have none of the luxuries that are considered necessities in the developed world. Yet, they have friends and families that love and support them, and they have good attitudes.
Your thought that something is bad makes you suffer. If you perceive it as a learning experience, or a chance to change, or make you stronger, you would not suffer.

I'm not actually sure why god allows suffering but I think Its because gods necessity to keep love alive with humans. Its based on the principle that there is no good without evil. If humans lived life without pain or suffering we wouldn't actually know what we had. Think about all the misery in your life. How much more do you miss someones comfort until they are taken away from you. How do we know when to smile or laugh without ever frowning or shedding a tear. Misery gives happiness definition. God is all about allowing humans choose the path to righteousness and salvation. Without conflict we would have no options to make mistakes. Without our ability to tell right from wrong we lose what makes us human. Our ability to have a conscience.

Honestly whether someone believes in one god or many gods either way I believe the reason people still suffer etc is because of a few reasons.
1. Everything happens for a reason
2. It teaches us
3. It builds strength to handle other areas of our lives
4. In some cases it might be about natural selection

God didn't allow man to suffer It's man that allows man to suffer it's our responsibility what happens in the world
God gave us a choice it's is way or ours (mans)
God gave us a clean envioment it was man who ruin it because of greed,God gave us a chance is son, do you exspect him to give us a neither chance, man didn't listen the first time, deal with the reality you have to make the choice
God gave you life and you have to answer for it

“Why?”
Answering the
Hardest of Questions
“WHY?” It is tragic to see how much anguish and pain can be packed into that simple word. People often ask that question after disaster or tragedy strikes: A hurricane sweeps through a region, leaving death and destruction in its wake. An earthquake reduces a city to rubble. A terrorist attack changes a quiet, routine day into a nightmare of fear and violence. Or an accident injures or takes the life of a loved one.
Religious leaders have offered a confusing variety of answers
All too often, the victims include the most innocent and defenseless among us. Recent times have brought more than their share of such disasters, causing many to cry out to God, “Why?” Consider some examples:
“Why did you do this to us, God? What did we do to upset you?” Reuters news agency reported that an elderly woman in India asked those questions after a tsunami devastated her village.
“Where was God? And if God has ultimate control, why did God let this happen?” These questions were raised by a newspaper in Texas, U.S.A., after a gunman opened fire in a church, wounding and killing a number of worshippers.
“Why did God allow her to die?” A woman asked this question after cancer took her friend’s life, leaving the deceased’s husband to care for their five children.

it's part of the learning process/purpose that everyone is here for. you are tested to see how you fare against adversity. the rewards are eternal. did your math teacher lay down the formulas and answers to the mid-term exam to make it easy on you, and so you didn't have to miss the football game the night before because you had to study? at least you understand that He "allows" us to suffer vs "causes". Our problems are either caused by ourselves or by others generally. The Earth problems like hurricanes are like self run programs that He set up a long time before we got here.

This is a complex question. I will give you a few ideas that help me:
1. Some of the things that we think are bad aren't actually that bad. For example, death. Our spirits continue to live after we die, and so there is not really a tragedy when someone dies except that the people who are left behind miss the dead person. The real tragedy is sin.
2. Sometimes going through difficult experiences makes us stronger. God wants us to reach our full potential, so He may allow us to pass through difficult experiences because they help us grow.
3. Sometimes people do things that hurt others because they have made wrong choices. God doesn't take away our ability to choose for ourselves, even though sometimes bad choices hurt other people.

Sometimes people need to fall flat on their back before they'll
look up. Some are pretty hard headed. There are several
reasons and they're all in the "manual for clean living" as the
Bible is sometimes called.
