I just got approved for food stamps. What will happen when i get my tax return. Will they count that as income? How will they know...

Food stamps have no bearing on your income or taxes. They do not appear on your tax return.

Nothing will change with your food stamps or with your refund - they don't affect each other.

That should not affect anything. Tax refunds are not income.
