when people say use your head is it the same thing as common sense?

Yes! Unfortunately common sense is not common! Which is why people have to be reminded to use their head...to use their brain!!!

Not always, using your head mostly means "stop and think" common sense is the rational judgement that we use without a lot of before thought

Use your head means think logically, common sense is what popularly done or thought as a practice by majority.

yes.
though 'common sense' is sometimes more unconcious and a instant thought or action, where as 'using your head' means you might need to think about it for a bit.
