My VCR is being a Taco (jerk) but i can watch any channles on my tv but my put in an old video called The Mask(movie not cartoon) and it plays the video but no picture and sound, just a BIG FAAAT blue screen. I need help, What should I do???

if my uncle screwed it up, he will pay(he ruins vcrs).

seems like a problem with the cord. Change the cord (try with a new one).

You probably need to check the cords in the "video in" and "video out" holes. Sounds like it's not going from the VCR to the TV. Just do some trial and error with the wires that go from the VCR to the TV until it works.

Another idea: does the VCR say that it's on the VCR mode and not TV mode? Mine will say "VCR" when I psuh the button on my remote. If I don't hit that, the video will not show up on the screen.

its mean you have to replace the most important and expensive parts the videohead parts like the picture tube in tv.its expensive so i suggest buy a new dvd player.. vcr are a thing of the past dvd player is the new generation on home movies thanks.

change the red white and blue cords around maybe they in the wrong holes or try fiddle with the buttons on the remote

what it could be too is the portion of the tape you are trying to play is blank and has nothing on it, try rewinding/fast forwarding a bit and see if that helps, if that doesnt work you need to clean the head but again that might not be the issue. its going to come down to the way they record those movies.

Make sure the TV is on the channel that it is supposed to be on.

As above, or you don't have it on one of the A/V channels.
