Not unless it has Ni-Cad batteries. Most recently manufactured electronics use Nimh or Lithium ion batts, which don't have the "memory" problems of Ni-Cad. Look on the battery label, the type will be printed there. No.

it depends on what your definition of "bad" is. basically, in an ideal world, you would charge the battery, use it, then when it is at 10% or less - you charge it and use it again. but the reality is that you can rarely tell exactly how much power may be in the battery - and even if you could - you might be going somewhere and need it to be powered up more for the trip or what not. so, the answer is this: rechargable batteries haev a certain shelf life. the more you use them and charge them, the less life they will have. it is best to condition them. that is to say, use them during the day and charge them overnight... and do this every 3 days or so (depending on your use.) as long as you fully charged them when you first got the device - you will still get a good return rate on the use.

I agree that older Nickel depending batteries don't like being semi charged. Li-ON batteries are Lithium Ion, and for this reason must be extremely resilient to charging at the same time as 1/2 used. notwithstanding inspite of those it really is better to totally dissipate the cost. notwithstanding do you try this with your cellular telephone or Ipod? -probable no longer and they commonly artwork lengthy sufficient! What i'd recommend is that you cost it as and once you want it, yet in some circumstances enable it to totally discharge, and then recharge it - or perhaps run by ability of a few cost-discharge cycles. in any case, the DVD participant will probable die previously the battery!

It depends on the kind of battery.
Some batteries want to be fully discharged before being charged, others don't care.
Sorry, but there's no simple answer that applies to all devices.
