Ganglion Cyst.

A ganglion is a type of cyst and unfortunately once one has appeared, although it may vary in size over time, it is unlikely to disappear altogether unless something happens to rupture it.

If the ganglion did break open, its fluid contents would be released into the surrounding tissues and for a while at least the lump would disappear.

Even if this happens the ganglion sometimes reappears weeks or months later.

Surgery is the most effective way of getting rid of a ganglion but the doctor doing the operation has to make sure that no fragments of the ganglion wall are left behind.

If they are this could result in the ganglion reforming sometime in the future

No - I did not have. but the for your information i would like to write the following -

A ganglion is a small, usually hard bump above a tendon or in the capsule that encloses a joint. A ganglion is also called a synovial hernia or synovial cyst.

Description
It is Ganglion. A ganglion is a non-cancerous cyst filled with a thick, jelly-like fluid. Ganglions can develop on or beneath the surface of the skin and usually occur between the ages of 20 and 40.

Most ganglions develop on the hand or wrist. This condition is common in people who bowl or who play handball, raquetball, squash, or tennis. Runners and athletes who jump, ski, or play contact sports often develop foot ganglions.-

Three, all on the same wrist. One disappeared after a few weeks of massage and spray-on medication, one popped while I was rubbing it (very painful) and one I had to have surgically removed with a syringe (excruciatingly painful). The old fashioned treatment was to pop the cyst by hitting it with a heavy book, usually the Bible (being a big heavy book and sometimes the only one available) - hence the myth that the Bible cures ganglion cysts. Doctors don't generally recommend doing this, as you can cause damage to the joint this way.

Sure, I've got loads of them. So do you. A ganglion is a mass of nerve tissue. Kind of like a nerve junction. Everyone has them.

If you're referring to a disorder of the ganglia, like a ganglion cyst or something like that, then no, I haven't had one.

Had one on my left wrist,on the joint, when i was younger.
Very painful when i moved and in the end, when i was a miner,i had to have it removed, they put me to sleep and on waking they told me that my guiders were in a bad way with the Ganglion and they had repaired them. All my fingers turned black with internal bleeding and it was very painful for a couple of weeks plus i had to go to the doctors because the swelling had made the bandages to tight, but the wrist is fine but for a little weakness.

No but my daughter had one when she was thirteen. The doctor said they usually hit them with a heavy book. My daughter wasn't keen on that so he said just bandage the wrist with an elastic bandage for a few weeks. It went away. Hope this helps.
