Has anybody actually been swayed by the arguments (such as they are) for or against religion here on Yahoo! Answers?

Did you start out as a Christian and realize (through exposure to ridicule) the folly of your childhood beliefs? Have you been a lifelong atheist until you received (through divine revelation) the gift of the love of Jesus? Have you come to embrace Allah, or to know Buddha, or Joseph Smith, or L. Ron Hubbard (or Thor ... or anyone)?

or is this all just pointless, jovial inter-faith bickering?

and don't you just love it! either way?

i htink everyone needs to beieve in something. for me, wicca is the path that gives me peace. (1 eg.) it doesnt really matter what path you choose, as long as you are ok with it and realize that no matter what anyone says , you know that you are on your destined path

When I first started coming here (almost two years ago), I held Christian beliefs but I was not a Christian. A year ago, I became a Christian.

It had nothing to do with anything on here. I just saw myself for what I was, and realized what the problem was (thanks to a friend of my husband's).

I have learned a lot on here, though. I've learned that atheists on here feel the same way about religion I used to feel, though I didn't call myself an atheist at the time I felt that way. I just didn't believe in God. I didn't know what "atheist" meant. And I've learned that my fellow Christians can be a little silly sometimes. Okay, a LOT silly, lol. I've also learned to have a better sense of humor, to not take myself so seriously.

R&S is a great way to waste my time!

No, but that's because I was already comfortable with my religious choices (I'm an eclectic Pagan) and knew enough about other religions to know I made the right choice for myself before joining Yahoo! Answers. I'm only here to clear up misconceptions about the beliefs I may share with others, though I'd rather stay out of preachy posts that I've seen on here.

I am a Chrisitan and because of YA I was introduced to the Q'uaran, which is very interesting and I am glad I have heard about it. If anything answering questions on YA has increased my faith and made me feel more positive about my choices.

actually yes. many of the things i read here do open my mind to new questions and provoke me to look further into my own beliefs. All in all, i have a stronger faith in my religion now because of all the research and information i get because of these questions.
