in order to GET MONO someone basically has to give it to you...well i went to go see my boyfriend about 2 weeks ago and we made out and everything and he just told me today that i gave him mono but yet i have no symptoms of it, now or even before..and i know the symptoms take like forever to develop so there is no way I gave it to him right??? or could i have it now and not know it?? i mean he already went to the doc cause hes been sick and they told him...but i feel perfectly fine..
except for the past 2 days the upper left side of my neck (below my jaw) when i press on it it hurts, actually its starting to hurt more but i think thats because of the canker sore or (ulcer) that i have on the lower left side of the inside of my mouth..so that couldnt be a sign....OR COULD IT??
i would really like a nice considerate answwer...someone that knows what there talking about

I had mono when I was 6 best I can remember I felt sleepy all the time and eventually started coughing blood. But in the beginning I felt fine no symptoms at all. If your boyfriend already has symptoms he probably got it before you were over there. But you need to get checked because it is contagious through kissing drinking behind someone and the like.good luck

It sure doesn't sound like it to me. I had mononucleosis for 3 months in high school, and none of your symptoms match any of the ones I had.

While we do "pass around" illnesses to each other, we do not "give" it to each other. We can only catch an illness if our own immune system isn't strong enough to fight off an illness. We strengthen our immune systems by eating nutritiously, getting enough exercise and sun, reducing stress (also by learning how to lessen the effects of stress on us,) and by maintaining a positive attitude. All of these things have been well established in the medical community to help us prevent disease. It's common name is "the kissing disease" because people who spend a lot of time together often pass it around, but your boyfriend cannot blame you for his illness, even if you may be carrying some mono germs.

You can be the carrier of the virus and not have many symptoms or it is just now coming on you. He could have been more disposed to getting it..under stress, not eating sleeping good etc..Also He could have gotten it elsewhere..i mean from a cough, sneeze, door knob etc..
