Well, my younger sister (she and I are 1 year and 4 days apart) and I had a horrible relationship when we were younger. Now we can talk to eachother on the phone and get along most of the time....on the phone....but we're not really apart of eachother's lives because I don't trust her.
My older step-sister (she and I are 2.5 years apart) and I have a peaceful relationship, but we're not really friends we just see eachother at family functions. We're always happy to see eachother, but we never call eachother and go out or anything.
My older step-brother (he and I are 8 years apart) barely know eachother because by the time I went to live with my dad and my step mom he had left to go live with his dad. We get along fine when we see eachother, but we don't have a relationship per se.
I think how you get along with your siblings is different from family to family though. It's all about circumstances.

The way my parents trained us to get along - which was very badly and meanly! I wish my stupid parents had taught us 3 to be kind, loving friends instead of the bad sibs. they trained us to be.
I can only hope that many or most of you out there were trained to be kind, loyal, loving, helpful, best-friends, etc. by thoughtful, intelligent parents.
If not, perhaps you can re-train your self to be ok.

personally i havent really ever had a lot of major trouble with siblings.
just remember that they are the only ones you will ever have, they arent replacable like friends.
practice some patience and self control.

I get along with mine fine...Sometimes one or the other will do something stupid but hey, i may not like it at the time but i do love them...

My brother and I have been through many hardships so its bonded us quite well. We share nearly all the same personality traits, so its easy for us.
But for other people? Try and find common ground.

i get along great with two older one but i don't know the four younger one very well

when we were younger we would fight all the time but the older we have gotten the better we get along!
