I was thinking about joining the military but I had knee surgery 4 years ago. I tore my tendon some ligament and my mcl and acl. I can still run incredibly fast and hop and jump and squat, the only thing I can't really do is kneel. Can they waiver this?

Dude, at this point they'll pretty much let anyone willing to die in some godforsaken desert in. You should have no problems convincing the recruiter.

Your post-surgical picture could indicate an instability due to your being unable to kneel. That is disqualifying. The source below is the reference from the medical standards used.
There are usually no waivers granted for conditions which limit your range of motion.

If you really want to join the army then try. The worst they can do is tell you "No". I'm not sure how difficult it is now with the war but about eight years ago it wasn't just "Sign this and you are in". You go through physicals, extensive background checks, and testing.

So as I said, If you are serious about wanting to try then call a recruiter and talk to him/her. Explain your situation, they will do all they can to help you get in (Helps them with their quota). You will go through health screening and physicals and if you dont pass the physical then they will just turn down your enlistment.

It is possible, but you'll have to have a doctor back you up.

If you get so far as the physical at MEPS and the examiner trys to disqualify you, it's worth it to appeal to a specialist.

I made them let me see an orthopedist about my flat feet.

Despite what the first poster said just to be a jerk, you should see a Recruiter about that, and ask a Doctor about the pain, if it's getting in the way of performance, it will stop you from getting in however.

i'd for sure ask a doctor, because you don't want to have your knee any worse than it is now. as for joining the military, with a previously injured knee thats great. joining the military is not for me but i am so greatfull for the people who do it.
