Were the American Revolutionary Soldiers who so yearned for freedom that they pushed back the British Army, then, ALSO racist? Were they disloyal to their own "skin-color" for simply usurping inept governance?
Were whites somehow brutally - even hatefully - disloyal to their "own kind" for refusing to let down their guard and permit Liberties to be witheld from persons of any skin-color? Even to the point of fighting to the death of nearly 700,000 soldiers to end the institution of slavery (which the U.S. inherited)?
Or is it a clarion decision that workable law be chosen well above any loyalties to ethnicity and even family, in some cases?
What value does color on any part of our bodies offer us that could compare to freedom?
That applies to everyone, of every heritage.
Agree? Disagree?

In the way of CLARIFICATION of my MEANING>>>
Many answers imply that Latinos who oppose illegal immigration are somehow racist or disloyal to their "raza".
Are they either? Or do they simply value law and the liberties they ensure?

I am an American of Mexican descent, I am not a Mexican/American, because I am not a Mexican first and a American second. I am not a Latino and I'm not sure what a Latino is. I am first and for most an American. If I lived close enough to the boarder to be of any help, than I would join the Minutemen. Does that make me a racist? I don't think so. To be a racist by definition : discrimination based on the belief that some races are by nature superior. Now that would be a stretch. Most people that play the race card, don't even know the true definition of the word. LULAC loves to use it to cloud the issue of immigration. The true issue is illegals crossing our boarders, period. No matter what country they come from. No illegal immigrant should be able to get a ID card or drivers license in any state. They should not be able to buy property. They should not be able to rent property. Anyone who employs them should be jailed as the law states. Put the employers in jail for it and the others won't hire anymore. If they can't get a job here and they won't want to come here. Now the question becomes did anyone bother to notice that I have been using the term illegal immigrant. No? Well now that is the issue is it not? Color has nothing to do with the security of our country. It is the fact that people are entering our country illegally. And some mean to do us harm. They already do not respect our laws. So what makes you think they will abide by any of our laws? Something to think about........

Agree. I had stated many times that they are the ones who have the criminals in their areas. They are for the most part loyal Americans, even the ones that have to go five years to become Americans the legal way and they appreciate the country.. Matter of fact I find them more fiercely loyal Americans than many of the others that have had it handed to them on a silver platter.
I saw the sheriff for Webb County Texas and he was a Mexican American, Sheriff Flores, and raising heck about no help. Then they had the state senator from there on and told him to mind his business, at that Glenn Beck had a fit and jumped on the senator. Anyway the sheriff is based out of Laredo with 70 people missing.
Then tonight Lou Dobbs had a Sheriff Arpaio, from Arizona, I think he is the gentleman that makes the prisoners wear a pink jumpsuit and live in tents. Anyway he stated he had been called a Nazi, racist and everything under the sun and then stated it just made him want to do his job more. Interesting is that last month they had 2,100 illegals in jail and that they committed 11,000 crimes and 8,400 were felonies.
So Mexican Americans are a part of our history and other have been coming here for decades if not centuries and they have fought in our wars. They are Americans. As I stated the criminals will hide in their areas. There are good and bad apples and thank goodness we got more good apples.
Another interesting thing is tht the people of Arizona approve of the sheriff 72% (there's that seventy number again). New York 72%, Yahoo 70%. Make you think.
As far as the group you mentioned it's the old story, the squeakey wheel gets the oil. Same with everyone. Funny though how the state legislators call the guys doing their jobs racist and he is a Mexican American.

I think Latinos who oppose illegal immigration from Mexico (or any Latin country) are not disloyal. They are simply Americans.
No matter what the color of a persons skin; country of their origin (or forefathers origin), or their choice of religion, I don't feel that we owe allegiance to any country but our own. In the matter of our freedom, nothing compares!!

The Minutemen are a very diverse group of people of all races and ethnicities who are Americans. Most Americans are sick of paying for illegals. And mostly totally offended by the fact that illegals think they are above our laws. They are all protecting their country regardless of race. I admire all of these individuals who donate their time to help enforce our borders, risking their lives to insure that our borders remain uncrossed by undesirables.

No, latino's are not turning their backs on their own people. They had to work hard to accomplish what they had to do. They are tired of illegals making them look bad. illegals need to come over hear legally. Even if it means waiting a long time. So, no they don't turn their backs on their own.

The Minutemen are just concerned American Citizens of all races if I have to say it; who want this country to have secured borders. And if our government doesn't do it, I have no issue with them doing it.
It is a false propaganda that the Minutemen are racist.
To Clarify: They are not disloyal, just concerned about the country in which they are members...

this is not an issue down racial lines as i know of all colors of people who oppose illegal immigration. this is an issue who's lines are drawn at those who violate an minimize our immigration laws and those who support them. loyalty has nothing to do with choosing obedience to our laws. it has to do with wanting to support and maintain the laws of the U.S.
