Most men are more intimidated by assertive women, than independent ones.
Non-assertive women are easier to being controlled and manipulated; just perfect for men who are insecure, dominant, jerks, shy, and womanizers in general...

And last, but not least, there are plenty of women believing that "independent" means acting flirty, and slutty and just too friendly with men, usually in front of their partners, and much more behind their backs...and when these girls get confronted, they accuse their guys of being insecure....

Independent, decent, honest and sincere women are the best kind there is, and an ideal partner as well....

I love my independent woman, and I'm fortunate to have her by my side..

Just my opinion -of course-.

Regards

It depends on the man. Many of them I've met seem to be ok, but there has been a few that were totally intimidated by female independence.
I'm single, and very independent. I'm sometimes asked why I'm not married. My first response is, "Why is there always a why? "WHY" can't I be single and not have to defend my reason?"
Honestly, I don't see any need to be married. Other than the affection that goes with it... which isn't their issue. What they are asking about is dependence.
I own my own home and property, I have good credit in my own name, and am not intimidated by dominate men.
I'd prefer a decisive man... rather than a wossey, "what-ever-you-want" type.

Guys are attracted to independent women because they usually carry a certain amount of confidence with them. However, men need to feel needed. Feeling as if you're just decoration does nothing to boost a man's ego. Nobody wants to feels unnecessary in anyone else's life. The trick is to make men feel necessary without them feeling as if you're patronizing them or belittling their masculinity in any way, shape, or form. Having ditzy moments, small crises, and needing a hand every now and then helps balance it all.

Scrubs might be intimidated, but I like a woman I'm interested in to be independent. I can't stand needy/clingy chicks.

& Peggy's right too, we still want to feel needed for SOME things.

only if they are insecure, but most guys i think find independant women refreshing and easier to get along with these days. There are no games with these type of girls what you see is usually what you get and you know where you stand with them too.

Men aren't intimidated by women, independent or not. You certainly are not independent of making spelling mistakes and the notion of being lazy.
