my boyfriend is not the most attractive guy and his sense of style is kind of old fashioned..my mom has only spoken to him on the phone and she's all happy to meet him and i'm not so sure if she'll like him once they meet..and honestly my feelings for my boyfriend are not that solid..any ideas?? we've been going out for about a year

Well, I guess you are not confident of the physical looks of your boyfriend. To us parents, we dont care for the looks... we want to know if he is a good person and if he can support a family.

It does not sound like you really have enough feelings for your bf to be introducing him to your family. If you truly cared for him, those superficial things would not matter so much to you. Do him a favor and let him go to find someone that will truly love him.

It doesn't matter what your parents think about his clothes or his looks, it matters what they think about his character. If you're having doubts, I would suggest splitting apart for a while maybe even forever because that can't be a good sign.

Parents only care if the guy is a bum or kinda messed up. If he has a good personality they'll like him. Also he should try to suck up if all else fails.

Your parents should like your boyfriend if they see that he makes you happy. Looks aren't everything. If you don't have strong feelings for your boyfriend anymore though, I would talk to him about them and see if you can work it out. I wouldn't let your parents' feelings of him though dictate how you feel about him.
