My dog Dakota is a Rottweiler German shepherd/ Sib.Husky

She guards everything. Her dog food, her bowl, her toys especially from my other dog Duke.

Its hard to get him to play inside if she is guarding the toys even if she isn't playing with it.

Is there any way to solve this?

I always take them from her if she is guarding something she don't need like the dog food.

its just from duke! i can always get them from her! If i can't which is sometimes I get something to trade with her. Cause I don't want her to nip or get mean.

Have u ever watched Dog Whisper on TV? Here it is on the Animal Planet..It is not a good thing for a pet to do such.. it like a kid being selfish with his toys from others.. they need to share.. Possession aggression.. is when a pet doesn't want u to take away something they want or have..
As long has ur dog doesn't growl at you or bite u that is good.. but some go that extreme...
The only way to resolve it is to take time.. and become the BIG master of the pack.. u are the leader and what u say goes..
Demand he lays it down for u.. or doesn't eat until u say it is OK

It's called possession aggression. and any dog can have it. Modifying it takes time and consistency. You must assert yourself as the leader. Take all the toys and put them away bring them out when you want to play and always demand the toy back using a leash and collar on the dog in the house will help achieve that. If you have time check out Ceasar Millan and his dog behavior videos he has worked many cases with this type of behavior. Good luck!

That is a common behavior in Siberians, and just as common in rotts and shepherds. Is she guarding these things just from other dogs or also from people? If she is guarding from people, that is unacceptable, but that doesn't sound like the case given that you say it is fairly easy for you to take things away from her. If she is guarding them from dogs, it is her right to do so. You can't tell a dog that they aren't the alpha dog and are expected to share. It wouldn't make sense to them. It sounds as if guarding from other dogs is your primary problem. The only solution there is to that is for you to step in as the alpha and tell them to play nice. If she does respect you as her leader, your intervention when she starts fighting should be enough to make her be civil to Duke, though she probably still won't share her toys. If this doesn't work, you need to go back to obedience class to establish yourself as the authority in the chain of command.
