Wood, from which pulp is made, comes from trees, they take years to mature. Trees also contribute vapor and oxygen to the atmosphere, so cutting trees contributes to global heating and atmospheric changes. It would seem that using other plants could prevent the cutting of trees for the purpose of producing paper.

They grow much faster than trees. which means that you get more paper per square acre, per year.
