Chemotherapy for stomach cancer is given with IV fluids for 3 days and after completion of first cycle the second cycle will be given after 21 days, if the blood counts are normal. As Chemo medicines also destroy many other cells other than Cancerous cells the Blood counts will come down and after gaining the required counts the second round of chemo will be given.

Some chemotherapy drugs cause hair loss, but it is almost always temporary. Hair re-growth may not begin until several weeks have passed since the final treatment. The effectiveness will depend on factors such as the type of drug, dose, and treatment schedule.

Regarding hair loss, please note that all the hairs will start falling within 10-15 days of giving frist cycle of chemotherapy and it will fall completely and head will become bald. The hair will start growing only after the final cycle and from that it may take about 6-9 months to get back the normal size of hair.

Regarding cure of the disease it may not be possible to tell with the conditions given by you and much depends upon the stage of the disease and general condition of the patient. -

I am 57 and got lung cancer with 4 sessions every 21 days. along with radiation every week day for 6 weeks. It depends a lot on the strength of the particular drugs she is taking, but it took me about6 week for the hair to start dying(turning white and thinning.) At that time i just cut the rest off. Whether she gets "OK" after the last session depends on so many things. Some do and some don't. However she should start feeling better. That is the time to start enjoying time with her and helping her to think positive and remember her life as a plus for those who she loves and has dealt with.
