Have you been depressed for years and just grown used to it, like learned to cope with sadness and live your life just enough to get by? Anytime anyone sees how you feel they become concerned, but they really shouldn't worry, because happiness happens so rarely that you don't even miss it?

This really gets on my nerves. Is anyone like me? I don't even generally like happy, peppy people. Is that something wrong with me? I wish I could find people who were comfortable with the dark side of life and didn't seek drugs or anything. I feel so alienated all the time, I suppose thats part of the problem.

Why so sad and so gloomy ?
Do you like being in this state or do you dislike the happy people because you can not be in that state? you don't know how to be happy ?

Do you feel that the real life is the sad life and that happiness is a bliss ?

Have you ever seen or met a person who is happy - INSPITE of the lack of wealth or health ?
A person who can maintain a cheerful spirit - during crisis ?
An optimistic person - inspite of his misfortunes ?

These are people of strong character and high spirit, they are the 'survivers'. They have a big heart and are an inspiration to others.

You may take a closer look at these people, and adopt some of their traits.

Focusing on other people's problems and stop feeling sorry of yourself is a very effective start. Open up your heart towards others and leave your shell.

I feel exactly like you. Have most of my life. My sister has been on meds or under a doctors care most of her life, I don't see much difference. I feel even more aggravated by the fact that due to my career choice I can't seek help for depression. If I do I'll likely lose my job, and then I would definitely not be able to get hired by anyone else for the same job. Worse thing is my family does not support me, they just nag me and make things worse. I wish I could be happy too.

I thought I'm the only one... I've always been a sad person. When I feel happy at some point in my life I think about the bad thing that will happen next.. which is longer, and harder to cope with. I have happy friends who don't seem to get affected by anything. But thats them, I'm different.

What I just don't like it when people ask me how I'm doing. And of course I don't like it even more if they point it out, saying I look sad.. and asking why (which makes me more sad because I realize my feelings shows).. I wish they'd just ignore it.. I'm okay, i'm just sad like I always have been.

Over the last five years I had begun to have increasingly withdraw into a downward spiral of depression..

But now with the method I can fully focus my energy and thoughts into a decisive line on how to make my life better constantly. And it works like magic! I'm beginning to attract people to me once again and things have just been looking up since then.

Helping you eliminate depression?

I used too... & then with alot of "grit" & grim determination- I fought my way out of it, -so that NOW it's only an unwelcome "ghost" that pays me a "visit" every once in a great while... As for the "Happy People" getting on your nerves- they're no more to "blame" for the way THEY are- than you are for being Depressed. So TRY to be as Understanding of THEM- as you WISH they could be of YOU. Since no way of "Being" lasts forever, I think I can offer you the HOPE- that what happened to ME- could happen to YOU. But it IS going to take awhile (a couple of years- perhaps); and you ARE going to have to be BOUND & DETERMINED to fight it- at ALL costs, -come what may. THAT "said & done", -not only will you find that the Battle was WORTH IT, but that you'll end up as one of the STRONGEST people that you'll ever meet...! So!- Hang in there; give it your best shot, -& Good Luck! :)

Your not alone! I have been depressed and on medication for about 10 yrs now,it runs in the family so maybe it's genetics....but I feel the same way you do alot of the time, even with meds. I tend to keep to myself somewhat, but I don't think theres anything wrong with that,as long as you don't completely withdrawl from everyday life. Maybe you should speak with your doctor. Good luck :)

I have had depression for a few years but I would much rather be treated for it than to just live with it. I hate being so depressed, cause I can get pretty nasty when I'm in my depressed mode and my family and close ones have to deal with it. No, I'll stick with regular counseling and medication to keep the depression under control.

Hi

Yes. I too live with depression probably for the last 25 years. I suggest you come out of your worries failing which you will tend to fall sick like me. I never knew reasons for problems like asthma, thyroid, gastric problems until my doctor asked me as to what i am so worried of.

I too am a sad soul who loves darkness, loneliness and i am sure music will help you to a great extend. Please try.
