You should probably call back.
One time I was cited for a traffic violation and the officer forgot to give me the ticket, I ended up calling the station and they had the ticket on record so if I didn't call and come in to get it, I would have been screwed.
A traffic violation is not the worst thing in the world, trust me. The station might even let this slide.
Best case: You call back and they actually don't have it on record... What are they going to do? Write another one with no evidence?
Worst case: You don't call back, they end up finding the record, now there is a warrent out because you didn't pay it.

Keep calling until it is on record. Similar thing happened to me. I got a ticket. Knew I was guilty, so I went that same day to pay it. They said they had no record of it. It just means the officer hasn't turned it in, yet. City clerk told me to call back in a couple of days. I did, and the ticket had posted by then. Your best bet is to check back in a couple of days and pay the ticket. And if it doesn't post, do everything in your power to find out why, so that the ticket doesn't come back to bite you really hard in the buns.

yea make sure you are calling the correct courthouse and don't let it slide because if it eventually comes up you could be charged with a bigger offense and eventually turn into a warrant just keep checking if not make sure you have the name of the person that you spoke to at the court house that way if it does show up you can prove that you tried to pay it

if u let it slide then it may turn into a warrant for your arrest, you dont want that.
Keep calling to check on it. If you dont have the address, get on the citie's website and pay it online. If u do pay it, that means that you plead guilty. you may ask for deferred adjudication {probation} or defensive driving so it doesn't go on ur record :)... good luck

The citation just hasn't been placed into the system yet. It is your responsibility to follow it up. Failure to comply will result in a guilty finding, a possible warrant, or suspension.

Send them a letter return receipt requested questioning the ticket.
Than if anything happens you have proof that you want to take care of it.
