i have to go for a upper endoscopy next tues and im feel very scare

izzit possible to be put to sleep instead of sedation?
will i feel terrible or vomit when swallowing the tube?
how long will the endoscopy take ?

Even though they're not fully asleep, the vast majority of patients have no recollection whatsoever of the procedure. The reason is that Versed is commonly used as part of the sedation cocktail and the brain has a hard time forming memories while under the influence of Versed.

well you cannot be put completely sleep for the procedure, although they will give you meds to relax you like some versed or fentonal that calms and relaxes you like if your in a daze, the procedure shall take between 15-30 minutes unless problems occur..you might feel soreness after the procedure because of the thick scope going down the esophagus
