uhmm, hi. i've had parakeets for almost 2 years. first, i had a blue and green bird but then later on, the blue one passed away :/ . so i got a white bird. then after a year, my dad accidentally left the cage door a little open, so my green one ran away -_- T_T. a few weeks ago, i bought another brid. he's bright blue. long time ago, i used to be very 'into' my birds and watched them everyday. and i'm sure that they liked me too. the white one, (my favorite bird so far) has learned to perch on my finger for almost a year. the birds were kept in the garage becuase my mom dislikes the feathers and the smell. later on, my dad said that they'd be better off outside in my backyard. now it is hanging a little higher than my head on the brick wall. whenever i put my finger in the cage and get my white bird ( rex) to go on my finger, it steps away like he is scared. he NEVER really likes to be outside his cage.(i think) . although on internet, it says that birds want to explore outside and lik

likes* being out of the cage once in awhile. this may be wrong.. but i used to get him out with a glove and then he would sit on my finger. he's learned to step up everytime is put my finger in front of him. :(((( now, i'm too busy and i don't give my birds barely any attention since they are outside. i really don't know what to do ! i feel really bad for the birds for having such a bad owner - _- ; sometimes i forget to change the water and food. now the birds just fly away from me. and i don't think they like the outside. but i have no choice ! imagine how loud the noises of the cars are bothering them ! that's why i think that they are stressed. i wish i can start all over. but i can't do that. first of all, my birds don't like going out of the cage. please give advices T_T i'm reallyyy ,, i want to give them a happier life. & please give advices how to think about them more and REMBMER to go outside and play with them. thank you so much ^^

to remember to play with them, write a little reminder to yourself, like on a sticky note and stick it somewhere you pass by often
Also, not all birds like the outdoors. Try bringing its cage inside for a bit. Or just watch for a while to see if it is just settling down.

You need to re home your birds whether selling them to another individual or donating them to a bird rescue. Birds require alot of attention and it sounds like at first you gave them some attention but then you started to back away and with them going from the garage to outside the birds miss the attention. Also using a glove to retrieve a bird is not a good idea due to the glove scaring the bird. Birds are just like children to a sense, they require alot of attention. Also having them going from the garage to now outside? What's protecting them from predators???? My advice is to find them a new home.

Birds have their own body language and budgies can learn to ask for things they want, like food, or water, or even petting, with proper training. that's how smart and senstive they are!
Drafts outdoors can kill a bird. What your birds are going through is basically birdie Guantanamo Bay Cuba.
Please, give them away! they don't deserve such a prison, they didn't do anything! If you're in CT -- heck, I'll take them!

find a rescue and rehome them.. they are not happy, and I wouldn't be either if Tigers and Giant Eagles came to visit me at night while I'm trying to sleep! Poo on your parents for getting you these pets and not caring at all for their welfare!! I've got a few choice words for them, as opposed to you. Budgies are NOT meant for outside pets!
