Yep...BUT you provide them with the Dr's names etc to check for medical problems. If you weren't hospitalized etc you should be fine. Just don't tell them your Dr's name that is treating you for the asthma.
the moment you walk in the door at boot camp they ask you do you have any medical problems...if you say no...you're home free.
I don't know why some people are telling you that they will "find out"....no they won't. If you don't exhibit symptoms unless you're smoking...then you will be fine. I got in with a disqualifying illness (not asthma)...served my entire tour (would have done more but my son needed me at home) and never got "found out" nor did I get charged for fraudulant enlistment.
BUT you should get the OK from your pulmonologist FIRST. Boot camp isn't a picnic...and you would be more of a loser to get there and say "oh I can't handle this" then to admit it now. We had one girl that waited until a week before graduation to say that she had asthma....she didn't "almost die" she volunteered the info and DIDN'T get brought up on charges for fraudulant enlistment. Some people are so naive....the military is hurting so bad for enlistment they are willing to put anyone thru.

OK, you and all the other asthma people out there, you CANNOT hide it while you are in boot camp. Tons of people try and as soon as the really hot humid weather combined with the miles and miles of running kick in so does your asthma. This is a condition that will not keep you out of the military if you disclose it honestly and in detail about how it effects you. DO NOT lie and think you are going ot get away with it because you won't. We had several people just like you almost die in boot camp and then got kicked out for fraudulent enlistments. Telling the truth about everything is the only way to go. Also, I have seen the extreme cold get to people as well so if you try to plan boot camp around the seasons it also will not work.

i don't think of united statesa. gained the conflict for us, that's a procedures from being an ordinary equation. We have been being offered by ability of the people for a while and had a lot of yankee pilots flying with us from the united kingdom in the previous the U. S. formally joined in. We held the line and destroyed the Luftwaffe at a key factor however. not long after that the Germans made a large tactical mistake by ability of invading Russia, and on the incorrect time of 365 days too. The Russians weathered that onslaught with vast loss of protection stress and civilian lives, then counterattacked Germany, at last pushing all of them the some time past to Berlin. the authentic question might desire to be, could Russian Communism be as susceptible is that's immediately if it had not had to bow to the NATO (inclusive of united statesa.) rules of the thank you to split up Germany and something of jap Europe...

The military WOULD like to know all of your medical problems. IF you want to be up front and honest...you CAN tell them about it. You might get a medical waiver (of course I don't know anyone that had asthma when I was in the military).
I had a partial disconneted ball and socket joint in my shoulder. I was ADVISED by my recruiter that it doesn't need to be reported unless if it's a major problem.

Asthma past age 12 is disqualifying for entry into the armed forces. If you lie about it, it will flare up in basic training and you will be discharged for a disqualifying condition which existed prior to entry.

You will be given a full medical on joining, also you are required to tell them about your medical condition, failure to declare it can cause you major problems later if you have an asthma attack.
