Why was it deleted, does anyone know?
I can not understand why that question would be removed, she said nothing offensive to anyone.

Thanks Zelda, I agree.
It is sad when people can no longer ask for positive thought, energy, prayer or well wishes without a few people in this community targeting them.
It was beautiful to see so many people of varying opinions and or beliefs get together in the common goal to wish the best to all of our soldiers and their families that are currently serving abroad.
They are not a contact of mine either but I have noticed them and their delightful answers.

Edit:
Zelda is right. they did not ask for a prayer per se, they asked for whatever someone was comfortable with, a thought for all of the troops who are in service. His/her son was in service as well.
I think of them often and hope for their safe return.

My many thanks to every one who answered.
We have to watch out for one another, especially when one of us is being targeted unfairly.

You are going to love this answer.
Asking for prayers is deemed "chatting" and is in violation of the rules. all you need is someone who is "offended" by this and BLAMMO! it goes.
A few months ago, I suggested tot he Y!A staff that a new category be established "Meetings and Greetings".
Here, you can give a hearty "Happy Arbor Day!" to all the Yahooligans or ask for prayer for a loved one or even let us know it was your birthday.
NO ONE should ever have to endure a violation notice, just because you want to wish everyone a most happy day and to do your best.
Talk about grinchy!

I, too, am disgusted that this question was deleted! All 8tracks asked for was a moment of consideration for someone far from home, doing a dirty dangerous job out of duty and Honor. When a request like this is put into violation it cheapens a service that allows nasty, hateful or, on occasion bordering on obscene, comments with no chastisement at all! So sorry that it will probably be taboo to wish any of you greetings of any kind for any occasion, even in passing while answering a question! And I still send my heart-felt wishes for the safe return of 8tracks' son and indeed the same for all of our children! (I believe one of the things they are fighting for is the right to free speech as long as it harms no one in another part of the world.) What happened to ours?

I believe soliciting help from others are not allowed by the community guidelines. Someone reliable reported it as a violation. The Yahoo Team agreed on it and they deleted it.
Really there are some answers that need to be reassess not just by deleting it outright. When you reported for a violation and if you are not of good standing they don't delete it even if it is a clear violation. The Yahoo Team must do something about it. We can't do otherwise but to be startled of the outcome.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

Nolte, I've lost relatives as well and know the pain your boss and you are experiencing. I know that words are little consolation in a time such as this, but just knowing that others care enough to pray for you and cry with you can be deeply comforting. My heart and prayers go out to you and your boss.

It wasn't a prayer request, though some people did offer their prayers. A lot of people report questions or give them "Thumbs Down", because they are jealous. 8 Track wasn't a Contact of mine, but I noticed that he (she?) seems to be very bright and original. That's plenty or cause for jealousy around here.
I'm sorry to see it gone.
Update: It looks like maybe 8 Track got suspended. Grrrrrrr!

Without knowing the truth, he might have sent an offensive word against God or to somebody else who are christians. It was reported maybe as the result of being deleted.

Because prayer requests aren't allowed here.
Offensive things are allowed here though. Well, thats the general drift.

8TM is all man. It amazes me how certain "harmful" questions are allowed to stay but the more benign ones are deleted.
