Cable box rental is from $4-$8 per month with most cable companies, That should include all channels received on the first box. If you just want standard cable channels yu won't need another box.

This is just another suggestion we have a HD TV with an antenna on the house and used a splitter so my son could watch TV in his room. We have almost 30 channels now and no cable, no satelite, and best of all no extra monthly bill to pay. I guess we really don't need all those extra channels!

If you get a cable ready tv, you won't need a box but he will only get channels 1-100. Above that you can't receive without a box. Boxes in my area are $6.95 per month.

Nope the cable company will hook another cable to the current cable box. There will be no extra charge. The only charge is for them hooking up the cable to the new room.We have cable in 4 rooms and pay about the same as you do for those same services.

you don't need to waste your money in another cable box. If you already have cable then just hook it straight to the t.v. and he'll have plenty of channels to enjoy. he will still have all the channels without a box
