The reason most people answer questions with Bible quotes is because this is religion & spirituality. If a person asks for an answer, people are going to pull from their religion. This involves the Bible for many people.
As for being offended. I don't get that way easily. I like debate. If you think I am wrong, prove it to me out of my Bible. (yes, I am Christian and therefore, the proof has to be Biblical) I don't typically debate with people outside of Christianity because it isn't my business, and I believe all idea's have some validity to them. I just won't take it as a religious option for me. It is good to understand other religions and even other denominations within religions. If you don't debate and dig, how can you truly know what you are doing is right?

I do not get offended easily when someone criticizes my religion because I am comfortable with it and know they are ignorant and close minded about it and have been brainwashed as to what they believe.
I think that some people seem to get offended because they are really validating their beliefs to themselves. Maybe subconsciously they are questioning, and we certainly can't question what we are suppose to believe can we?
And to the one who answered that questions were answered with bible quote is "because this is Religion & Spiritualty" I hate to tell you that Christianity is not the only religion and they do not have sole rights to being spiritual. Maybe they are incapable if putting things into their own words.
My point is, I can accept that you believe what you do, and will not condem you for it, and I would like the same consideration. I will not attack you or what you believe.
If you know little to nothing about a relgious path you should not criticize or attack those who have different beliefs. And please. "Because the bible says so" is not much better than no excuse at all. I guess you also believe in stoning disobedient children, the existance of unicorns, talking donkeys and talking snakes (it's in the bible)..

For the same reason that people are easily offended over sexuality, race, nationality, politics, even sports teams.
You don't sound like a free thinker. You are merely repeating what one could see on a bumper sticker on the back of a 1968 VW van. Nothing original here at all. Even the most cursory attempt into thinking this over would have elicited the answer for you and you know it.
You don't want an answer; ironically, you want to offend.

Not all religious peole are easily offended when someone criticizes our religion. Most Pagans are well aware that our religions are not for everyone.
Please do not confuse "religious" with "Christian" as you SEEM to be doing in this question with the additional details about Bible Quotes in the answers.
This is still a fallacious view of religion....

The word says there is nothing new under the sun, it has all been done before, religious people have been here for 6000 years, and YHVH (the true God) hates religious people, I wonder why? Put away religion and seek and serve the true God, religion has done nothing but caused wars and death throughout history.
The reason people answer questions with Bible quotes is because they are trained religious parrots, just a bunch of sheepople without enough brains to study the word for themselves.
But that's just my opinion

Im not offedned at all, infact i welcome questions because it opens up the door for me to share mY lord and my savior with other "free thinkers" and often with good results, because a true free thinker will examine the whole evidence given and come to a logicall conclusion based on the facts not based uopn presuppositions. so heres a question for you, where are you going when you die? heres a few questions that will indeed help us find out.
Here’s the first Question, have you ever told a Lie? Telling Just one lie makes us a lair according to God’s standards, in revelations 21:8 God say’s “all Liars shall have their part in the lake of fire.”
Have you ever stolen something? Stealing Just one thing according to God’s standard makes you a thief, even if the value of the item is small. First Corinthians 6:10 say's No thieves shall inherit the Kingdome of God. Have you ever looked with lust? God sees our thoughts and he has declared that even looking upon someone with lust is adultery of the heart. Have you ever used Gods name in vain? This is called blasphemy, and God will not hold them guiltless who use his name in vain. Can you see the Issue here? Were “Good” by our standards, but By Gods were not, and we’ll have to face God in Judgment. The Bible says God is angry at the wicked every day, and that the Punishment for breaking His law is hell. Does that concern you? It should, perhaps you say, “I don’t believe in hell” the fact we believe or don’t believe in something is irrelevant to whether it actually exist or not. If it is true then we may deny its existence, but will one day face the reality of an eternity in hell. Listen carefully, God has done something for you that you would not have to suffer in hell, God sent his Son (Jesus) too suffer and die on the cross for your sins. You broke Gods law, you deserve God’s Justice, but Christ took the Punishment you deserve, your broke the law and Jesus paid the fine. What must you do? Repent (turn from sin) and trust in Jesus Like you would trust a parachute; it’s the only thing that will save you. 150,00 people die every day, many people who may be athiest, agnostics or just never took the time to repent, an eternity is a long time and if there is a God and Judgement day it is worth your time to seriously consider these facts, becayse they will hold eternal consequences.
God Bless

You shouldn't stereotype. I'm religious, and I can handle it fine when people criticize my religion. It happens all the time. And I only answer with Bible quotes when the question asks "where does it say in the Torah..."

Not,
when you speak against God or Jesus or the Holy Spirit
it offends God and Christians are defending what they know and love, these things should not be
where is the respect to just ask a question decently
the word of God is what we stand on and believe we cannot answer a Godly question without his word which is life

I don't usually get offended. If you're beliefs are based on the bible you shouldn't either.
Psalms 119:165
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
Why did I answer with a "bible quote" because my thoughts, opinions can be wrong but Yahweh's word stands forever.
Isaiah 55:11
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Religious people are so easily offended because they are PEOPLE. Haven't you ever been easily offended? Yes, I know you have because EVERYONE has, and if you haven't you will be. Religious people are also...religious. They seem to think that they are somehow better than most. I say it's a bunch of BS and that JESUS is all there is to it and God is great, religion is NOT!!!
