It really depends on if it is teething or just used to getting its own way. Most likely it is teething and can wake 2-3 times a night. It is hard the first two years of a childs life to get it into a routine.Be patient before you know it the baby will sleep through the night.I had 11 and four were the same as yours.Just remember keep your cool the child feels that you are frustrated and is reacting to you.

Apparently humans have sleep cycles in which we wake every 90 minutes or so - and babies and young children will usually stir a bit and fall back to sleep (like we do!). However if the child wakes fully and cannot settle it usually means he/she is unwell/uncomfortable, had a bad dream, or is missing you. Separation anxiety can be strong at this age and sometimes they just need reassurance that you are still around.

I have a 2 year old that doesn't sleep well and a 1 year old that never needs my attention at night. We are having problems right now with the 2 year old. He usually wakes in the middle of the night and calls out forever until I go see him. I got into a bad habit of giving him a bottle of milk to comfort him and keep him quiet and now I think he expects that - so don't do that, just a cuddle or a pat if he/she needs one. If your child is just chatting and seems happy then best to ignore it!
Making sure your child is tired before going to bed at night and having a consistent routine is very important. My 2 year old has a comfort item - a toy giraffe he was given as a baby, which he cuddles every night. While I think it is usually from habit that they wake at night, it could also be individual differences in temperament (as my two kids are so different).

They are now 1 1/2 and 2/12 Both of my boys have slept through the night since they were 4 months. T hey may wake once in a blue moon, or if they are not feeling well. I can hear them at night wake up when I go to the toilet but they never call out or cry, they must just put themselves back to sleep.

My son has been sleeping through the night since he was two months old. I guess it all depends on the situation though. If they are teething the child might wake up in the middle of the night. But usually, a one year old sleeps through the night.

It depends entirely on the child. Some will sleep through the night, while others will wake up every hour or so.

Depends on the type of child you have. Mine woke up 2 times a night until he was 2.

mine usually wakes up once... my first daughter slept through the night starting at 7 weeks - so it really just depends on the kid I guess!
