Why do so many people pretend the illegal immigration issue is about racism?

Because crying racism is the only ammunition they have. And it's so lame it needs a walker.

You can never prove racism; you can never disprove it. So it is their only ammunition for keeping the argument alive.

Because none of them offer facts, data or any intellectual basis to support their position.

Because this issue, Illegal Immigration, becomes a game for everyone: Politicians, Media, Etc ... So they all are playing their card.

1) Is it safe to pretend we're in security here in America, while we have 12 million undocumented people living in our neighborhood, our cities etc ...?
- We're in danger, we cannot be safe in such situation because we're in war on terror. And more, among those undocumented Aliens there are criminals: rapists, thieves, killers. We're facing a crucial time with this situation our leaders should end this mess, by taking their responsibilities.

2) Is it fair to say all the undocumented people are criminals, just because they're coming here illegally?
As a great American, someone shouldn't let this issue takes the best of himself. We should bring objective ideas in our comments, but not spreading anger and animosity towards those people.

It's very unfortunate to see some people are sending viruses to those who have a different views about this mess, Illegal Immigration.
As stated above, many people are playing their card with this issue and the intolerant people are stupidest, unfortunately.

Well there is no race involved because there are many illegal immigrants that come from all over the place not just one certain place. People think that race is an issue whenever dealing with certain rights.

Illegal aliens do not deserve rights because they are not citizens. They should be deported because they broke the law and they do not deserve to be here at all. In those last two citizens that I put I dont see where race could be entered there because race has nothing to do with it.

To me it does not matter if they pay taxes or not. Did they get here by obeying the laws? No? Then back to the motherland with you. Oh, and don't EVEN get me started on the not speaking English issue either.

So sad that we Americans have that tired ol slavery thing slapped in our faces when we didn't even start it. The Dutch simply took advantage of a system already in place among the tribes in Africa. There have been studies explaining just why most of Africa lags so far behind most Western nations technologically...it's beacuse for centuries they had a readily available, plentiful export eveyone else wanted...SLAVES! There was no reason to develop another economy, when they could just use their slave $$ to import whatever they needed.

I don't care what they did paid taxes,went to church,went shopping the whole thing evolves around money and spending some money has them above the law and has them as an asset to America. Any illegal is using fraud to obtain work and to suggest fraud is ok as long as it benefits someone is the same as saying different laws apply to different people,the playing field is not level or fair.How the pro's scream racism here,profiling yet Mexico, does it every day with all the illegals there and no one says anything about that.

Becuase they're being stupid and trying to defend something that everyone in the world, even them, and the people who commit the crime, KNOWS is wrong, but they have nothing to say for it, so they play the "Oh people are just being racist becuase they don't like the mexicans and they want them to leave the United States!!!"

It's to confuse the issue and put people who are against illegal immigration on the defensive.

Another tactic is to ask why they are against immigration. They pretend to think that you are against immigration, when it's ILLEGAL immigration.

Another tactic is to ask why you hate illegal immigrants. Speaking for myself, I don't hate illegal immigrants. I just want the immigration laws enforced. I have a much stronger dislike for our politicians who refuse to enforce the laws.

Think about it. When all you have to work with is trying to defend peoples legal status that starts with the word "Illegal", you have to revert to the ad hominem attacks. It's all they have. They have no FACTS to dispute the word "Illegal".
That's why we hear things like "Racist", "Aztlan", "Stolen Land", etc.
