How do expect a people who behead their political opposition and toss hand grenades at presidential candidates - in a peaceful year! - to come to terms to invaders who would just as soon do likewise to them as to breathe the same air? Get real. Peace will come only when one side annihilates the other.

No because both have been taught intolerance of others. The Catholicism that was brought to the Philippines is sssoooo polluted with false doctrine its not even Catholicism anymore and the Muslims are taught Islam while being handed guns and ammo. Neither are anywhere near God or Allah. They are perveted for socio-political gain and no where near the truth of either doctrine. You're philippina, you already know that Filipinos are so stubborn that they would stand in front of a speeding truck rather than admit that they were wrong. I can say this from experience, lots of experience. So no, it will NEVER happen.

There are no two more opposite belief systems than Hinduism and Islam yet a blended religion was born of the two, Sikhism. There have been many instances over history when there was religious and cultural tolerance, unfortunately we rarely hear of them.

The Muslims could start by not terrorizing the country and murdering innocent people. The problem is that religious tolerance only runs one way and it is becoming increasingly difficult from generation to generation to feel charitable to those who wish to destroy all Christians while earning their way to heaven and receiving their 72 virgins. Peace with Islam can only occur when Muslims are isolated from civilized society.

There are no two faiths that are so similar yet have so much violence between the two.
The only thing that can unite the two is if the religious leaders educate their followers about the "other people".

They are united by the word of the Qur'an. If they only knew. God's final message says:

'VERILY, those who have attained to faith [in this divine writ], as well as those who follow the Jewish faith, and the Christians, and the sabians - all who believe in God and the Last Day and do righteous deeds-shall have their reward with their Sustainer; and no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve.'
