It is totally normal!
A lot of people love their puppies/dogs just as they would a child. I know I love and treat my own 6 month old puppy (pure breed chocolate labrador retriever) like a child! When a child starts growing up, a lot of parents (mothers especially) get depressed and sad that their "baby" is growing up, but "get over it". You will too!
I was just saying to my wife the other day (concerning our puppy) that "my boy is becoming a man"!

Puppies grow so fast and 10 week is still young. Imagine in a few weeks, they'll be a bundle of energy, they will explore the world with their mouths..that means eating, chewing and destroying property, and they will need potty training as well as bite inhibition training. But one advice, Take lots of pictures now ! In a year, they are usually full grown and the puppy hood flies by.

My dog is about 6 years now. We adopeted him at the age of and he's still very much a puppy. Even though your training him to be a guard dog, hes still going to know when he can play and when to be on alert. My dog is very much like that. I never had his puppy stage, but you will always remember those times and will see very much of the puppy in him even when he gorws up. And if he sleeps on your bed or by your bed, hes just so adorable when hes dreaming!!!!

Puppies are cute, but an adult dog is a faithful, loving, and fun companion if treated and trained properly.
Just enjoy your puppy now and believe that all stages of a dog's life can be wonderful for you and the dog if you have a good relationship.
Take good care of your puppy and he will be your friend for all his life - the bond between you and your puppy will grow stronger and be more satisfying as he matures if you train him and treat him well.

Yeah, it will pass. As she grows up and you develop your relationship with her those feelings will pass. But believe me, it's totally normal.
I have 3 labs and now that they are all grown I s/times wish that they were still little puppies that I could pick up and put in my lap. But then I think about the housebreaking, and the period of puppiness when they tore our house to shreds, and were so out of control hyper ALL the time., and I am greatful that they are grown up a little bit, and much calmer.
Have fun, and good luck

Oh I felt the same way about my pomeranian when she was 10 weeks. She is now 7 months and 1 week. But i'm so proud of her accomplishments and she's still adoreable. Like the others said, you'll miss the puppy stage sometimes, but you'll be proud of her too.

no u wont miss them.i have two german shephards.i remember how my older one(about 12 years old) used to chase me (it felt like chasing to me b/c i was about 8 and he was a big dog but he was just playing)& liked to play around but know i can see how he has wised up.i realize how much he has grown up & changed.my younger that i got maybe 3 years ago when he was a puppy still acts like a big puppy.he is very hyper & makes me laugh too but the best thing about having a dog is watchin them grow.just know that she will always be there for you.whenever i feel upset i can go hang out w/ my older dog b/c he will sit there and stay w/ me but my younger dog is always on the move.when i want to play and have fun i hang out with my younger dog.i love both of my dogs & no matter what their age i love them the way they are.

I guess you can say that. At first you will feel that way but think of the positive. When your dog is all grown up, it won't be much trouble in the pooping and others. Plus, an adult dog is as much fun as a puppy. You'll see.

My dogs are 6 and 3 years old and they will always be my puppies. Even if they weigh 150lbs and 110lbs they very much act like puppies, but with manners.
It's just a phase. Just enjoy it they grow so FAST!

It does, because you get proud of what you worked hard to train. Sometimes you miss the cute years, but you can still laugh when they grow up. They find new ways to make you laugh.
