'Shyness' is just another word for low self worth. Research self esteem and go to work on improving /raising yours.
Confident people may be nervous or even shy sometimes but, because they know how to be OK, those rare episodes of 'shyness', etc. quickly fade away.
It would be worth the effort to study and PRACTICE the various methods and systems within self-esteem training which can be found almost anywhere you care to look.
good luck raising your low self worth which will end those awful shy/nervous episodes.

I used to be pretty shy. I honestly just stopped thinking about it and my life has gotten much better. Push it all aside and when you go to talk to him dont think at all. Once youve done that you would have proven that you can be out going and will have no problems with being shy. There are some things that everyone is shy of though so dont get over your head ;)

He's a person just like you. I was really shy around everyone, let alone who I liked. To get over it, I just said whatever interesting thought was in my head (appropriate, interesting thoughts...) and tried to spark a conversation. It wasn't easy, but it's just something you're going to have to work on.

Are you in school? Then it will come with age, experience and maturity.
Ask yourself what is the very worst that can happen if you do ask them out? They will say no, you'll be slightly embarresed and it might be awkward when you see them next. But if you don't try you'll never know!

If you are just shy around him that means you like him and that you don't know what to do or say.
