I like how people who are atheists actually don't have very much faith in their 'religious' viewpoint. If you really are so confident that their is no God/god, then why haven't you just killed yourself? It doesn't matter if you die today, tomorrow, or 50 years from now, you're going to spent eternity rotting and not existing, right? So what's the point of suffering with all of us nutty Christians trying to force morals down your throat? Or, if you don't want to die now, why not do whatever you want? Have fun, do what feels good. No one is keeping tabs other than society and cops, so whatever. Oh and what's so hard about living with Christians and their morals being shoved down your throats? You have science text books and all we have are 2000+ year old Bibles, how can we stand up against the awesome might of evolution? So instead of wasting your time with all of us idiots, why don't you have some fun? You only have this life to live so you might want to make it worth while. Seriously, stop wasting your time reading what stupid things I think, go get wasted or high, that way you don't have to think about anything.
Oh also, God says that it is only through faith and his grace that we achieve Heaven, not through good works. You can't earn eternal happiness when you are so imperfect. Maybe if we wait a million years or so we will evolve into perfection or gods, then we won't have to worry anymore.

The real issue is that people who "believe' usually try to shove their beliefs down your throat and force you to live by their beliefs. For example: abortion. Christians believe that to kill anyone is a sin they believe that to kill a fetus is a sin and therefore shouldn't be allowed for any reason. They therefore picket outside clinics, kill doctors (how they follow that logic I'm not sure), harass people, etc. The same goes w/gay rights. They believe being gay is a sin and a choice. They therefore vote to refuse gays the right to get married, be protected from discrimintation etc.
I personally believe in god, but not any of the religions. How can you teach about god when you spew so much hate and prejudice towards others? I have an issue when people force their beliefs on me. And that is the issue.

Yeah, I have it so easy. I volunteer twice a week at a battered women's shelter and see horrors you couldn't imagine. I have relatives who are raging alcoholics and I'm the person they call when they need help. I could go on...
Atheism isn't a lacking of morality or ethics. Some of the most decent people I know have no religion.
I only have issues with believers who want to condemn me to hell because I don't think like they do. Leave me alone and I'll leave them alone.

If you believe in God or are you Christian do you have a responsibility to the life of non God believer. Because Jesus said you need to preach the Gospel to the sinner so that they save also. You are right, we all a sinner but because of love of God he sent his beloved son Jesus Christ to died at the cross to wash our sins. So, we need only to believe that Jesus is our savior & redeemer and ask forgiveness of your sin you are save. The life of non believer is not easy they enjoy temporarily but deep inside they are lonely and empty. but if you live with God and trust him everything for your life he make your mind peaceful.

I agree! Needless suffering, and needless self restraint based on nothing other than the ramblings of ancient men makes no sense.
I don't have an issue with believers, to the extent they mind their own business. Unfortunately, Christianity and Islam are exclusivist religions of intolerance, and their believers project that into the legal system and public schools.
I think other religions are just as silly, but I don't bother arguing about it, because believers of other religions are not in my face trying to spread their religion via war and legislation.
Tolerance is reserved for the tolerant.

If we have it so easy, why make it hard on yourself? Contrary to popular belief, there ARE atheists who are basically good people. Perhaps our ideas are a little (okay, maybe a lot) different, but that alone just makes different.
The way I see it, you have no argument. We have it easy, you say. Great. You have it hard, but WHY? Because you choose to believe that there's some higher power out there that you have to please in order to be happy with yourself. You created the the problem.

You are right that no one is perfect. That doesn't mean you are going to hell because you cannot achieve perfection. You live your life by your own morality. If you are a good person and try to live a good lifeI am sure GOD will notice, the same as I am sure if you don't.pp

As if life is easy for anyone. It sure wasn't for me. I don't need any gods or dogma to use as a clutch to get through life though. I have my family and friends for that purpose.
As long you respect my beliefs, I don't have any issues with Christians or other believers of faith.

Of course we always have out ethics to stop us from doing whatever may feel good.
At any rate my issue with some who believe is that they insist everyone else follow their religious dogma. They constantly attempt to call the US a "Christian nation", they want their god in my children's schools, and they inflict public laws with their nonsense.

I haven't got any issue with believers, individually. But when they form political action committees and try to push their version of morality down my throat, I feel I ought to do something about it. One way is by speaking about why I don't believe. I think religion poses a real long term threat to the stability of the planet, and if I spend my time trying to halt the danger that is irrational religion, it's time well-spent.
-- When it comes to individuals, if you're a nice guy or gal I'll like you, no matter what your faith.
