By all means, you can add a website and/or email address RSVP to your RSVP card, but you MUST have a paper RSVP. Some people do not have access to the internet, and/or prefer the traditional response (i.e. your older guests). If you have out of town guests, you should not expect them to call long distance.

If price is a factor, make your own mini RSVP postcards using blank business cards and your home computer. Stamps for these mini cards will be next to nothing.

To the person who gave me a thumbs down: You are cheap and classless, care about no one but yourself (obviously not your guests), and probably live in a US trailer park....

EDIT: I added a RSVP email address on the bottom of my RSVP postcards (custom made), and about 50% of the people have used the actual cards to RSVP, and 50% have used the email address. The people from out of the country like the email option. The older guests preferred the cards, of course. It is fine in this day and age to have both.

Do both, I am telling you no matter what you do you will always be chasing up some RSVP's after the date but paper RSVPs are something you can keep as a "keepsake" of your wedding and are a lot easier for older people, most of my older relatives don't own a PC and would not even have any idea how to switch it on. The more options you have the better!

Do the standard RSVP- it is what people are used to. Lots of people won't bother to respond no matter what you do- you'll only be making more work for yourself.

When you do the cards it is easy to keep track of who has responded and who hasn't. If you have stuff coming in from different places you're going to lose some people along the way and you won't have accurate numbers.

I wouldn't skip the paper RSVP all together. You can ADD the other options... But it does take MORE effort for some of us to log on to a computer or make a phone call.

From a guest point of view, I'd rather open the invite, check my calendar, mark off my reply, then stick it back in the mail box.

once I sent out my invites for my wedding ceremony i presumed that spending the better on postage exchange into ludicrous. rather I lined a card that had my digital mail handle and contact # for persons to RSVP to. This exchange into super, it saved time interior the long-term with the aid of no longer having to stuff each and every of the RSVP enjoying cards and affix stamps as properly because of the fact the cost of postage. $0.forty-one x 3 hundred = $123 that could be a substantial volume. I made my own invites, i did no longer like each and every of the cheap ones and those I did like have been too costly and that i ought to reproduction them with lots extra variety and flair myself. So I only lined the classes to RSVP on an difficulty-free piece of corresponding velum paper. Had them revealed and shrink at staples for a minimum value. maximum persons at present can get admission to the internet and your older travellers will in all likelihood be family contributors which you already understand is coming. As for sending and assertion or diverse invites to your family members, i might only make each and every of the invites the comparable. I sent out the right comparable invites to all of us, I even sent them to my bridal occasion so as that they might not be disregarded. some human beings opt to maintain issues like your invitation. additionally some travellers that did no longer even come to the marriage sent us a clock they created from our invite. it quite is a few thing that i will have consistently.

You'll probably want the paper rsvps when it comes time to do seating arrangements and things like that. Especially if you're having a choice of meals.

besides, not everyone has a computer....

I think it's okay to not do paper invites. Like they said above, it will save a lot of paper. Instead of having them call you, designate a bridesmade or family member to take the RSVP's that come by phone. That way if the guests who choose not to or can't use the internet have a resource for answering other questions about the wedding when they call (like registry and things that aren't normally appropriate to talk to the bride about) they can be answered by that one person. Give that person all the info on the wedding that you think the guests might need on a sheet so that it's handy if they need it.

My cousin and another friend did an email RSVP due to financial restrictions (RSVP papers, envelopes and stamps). Go for it, but make sure to include a phone number for those guests who are unable to reply via email for whatever reason.

Our plans our to have it through an e-mail address on our wedding website, for our guests to email us at. I'm trying to figure out how to get our wedding site to let us put in a form for guests to fill out.

I like this idea better, it's cheaper, and is environmentally friendly.

I think even a phone number would be fine! Give you a chance to chat up with some friends too.

One of the new trends that I've seen is to have people RSVP on your website. Utilize theknot.com. I am on there almost everyday. They offer such great advice!
