OK, let's put your question in a more academic language.

In Islam, there is something called "Salat" which is often translated as "prayer", which is wrong.

The Salat is a special type of ritual prayer that includes certain movements and supplications. It is also done at 5 special times a day. During the menstruation, women are exempted from this prayer. I didn't understand that until I get to know the huge stress that some women suffer in the menstruation. Imagine them having to fulfill the requirements for the "Salat" which includes washing, wearing clothes free from any impure materials including blood, standing up for short or long time, etc etc.

Now there is another type of "prayer" in Islam, which is called "duaa", and it is equivalent to the common concept of prayer in English. You just talk to God while standing, sitting, walking or whatever. There is no limitations on they way you are dressed or whether the woman is menstruating or not. Every Muslim can do it, including menstruating women, and YES, God listens to prayers without restriction.

Peace/salaam.

Humans, regardless of their religious belief, would like to believe that a God, Who created every thing, is concerned about their perceived big problems. Give Allah a break.

God says in the Qur'an:

'And seek aid in steadfast patience and prayer: and this, indeed, is a hard thing for all but the humble in spirit, '

And thus does their Sustainer answer their prayer: "I shall not lose sight of the labour of any of you who labours [in My way], be it man or woman: each of you is an issue of the other.'
