Before trying to convince her ask her reasons why she is against you getting contacts. Having contacts can be a big responsibility at 13. I suggest that you sit down with her and share your true feelings on why you feel you are ready for contacts. Sometimes as parents we forget about our childrens feelings about growing up. Just like our children forget about why we make decisions on what is best for our children. Maybe both of you can come to an agreement.

Here are the problems with contacts:
1. They are expensive. You'll have to convince her that you'll help pay for them or do extra chores around the house (and keep your word).
2. They are high maintenance. You have to clean them and protect them and your eyes or you can cause serious permanent damage to your corneas and vision. You'll have to demonstrate how responsible you can be with something as precious as your eyesight. Have you been demonstrating your responsibility in other areas? Keeping your room clean? Behaving like an adult? Have you shown care with your glasses?
Here are the benefits:
1. They are more attractive, which can reduce teasing. Are you being teased at school?
2. They don't put pressure on the nose and cheeks. This pressure can cause sinus issues, headaches and encourage acne. Do you get any headaches? Do they go away when you've had your glasses off?
3. They cause less eye fatigue. With glasses, you have to refocus more often. Are your eyes tired? Close your eyes and look down. Push gently on the top of your eyeball through your lid. Is it painful or just noticeable? If it's truly painful, you have eye fatigue.
4. You can wear cheap sunglasses instead of prescription sunglasses.

I was 16 when I got my first pair of contacts. They are much less expensive than glasses, (though you'll need glasses too, just not as often.) My glasses got so heavy on my face they started to give me headaches. I have blue eyes, and they are sensitive to bright light. With contacts I can wear sunglasses.
Just remember, if you get contacts you MUST take good care of them. Listen to all instructions and follow them. Eye infection can be serious, and painful!
Good luck!
