It depends on what it is that you are after. All are good choices. The Pearl and Freedom are very new ships, while the Grand starting sailing in 1998.

Carnival and Norwegian both are family friendly and attract a younger more active group of passengers. While Princess (owned by Carnival) is also family friendly, you will find that the Princess passengers are older and less active.

Both the Grand and the Freedom have a large outdoor TV screen that show movies day or night. Both the Freedom and the Pearl have water slides. The Pearl also has a bowling alley.

Take a look at the itineraries. Do any of the itineraries interest you more than the others. If so, take that cruise.

I love Royal Caribbean. Carnival owns all 3 that you listed - and just about everyone else too except Celebrity. Royal owns Celebrity.

Much depends on what you are looking for - Carnival sku's younger but more rowdy crowd. Royal is more middle age and up and is very relaxing - excellent food, excellent service and most the ships are brand new.

The boat is the most important part of any cruise - service is second but a close second. I choose the cruise by price, then by boat, then by where it goes. Make sure your boat is less than 10 yrs old ( less is much preferable)

Since all 3 you picked are owned by Carnival, the experience will be similiar - Norwegian draws an older crowd, Carnival younger and Princess is in the middle..

I've been on 5 cruises.
2 Holland America - Baltic/ Alaska
1 Royal Caribean - Caribean
1 Celebrity - Mediterannean
1 P&O - Canary Islands

I would say the best cruise and cruise line was celebrity and the mediterranean. The places are so nice in the mediteranean and the celebrity cruise line was fantastic! They had amazing food!

A mediterannean cruise would be best to go at a time like jan/feb because if you go in the summer you will be hit with massive heat waves that are just too hot to go outside. In Jan/Feb it is nice and warm and hot but not too hot, but hot enough to go swimming and tan and that.

I have been on Princess and Carnival cruises.

Princess:
Caters to an older crowd
Very elegant ships
Staff extremly attentive

Carnival:
Party ships means lots of drunk people
Ships ok
Staff nice but not as attentive

We are cruising Princess again this December....can't wait!!!

i went on pearl this past april.was very pretty ship.food was good. especially that restaurant portifino i think it was called , italian, you must make reservation for. freedom is a beautiful ship. carnival food is average. princess is great food / service and ships are nice.
you'll love any of them. i'd look at athe itinerary and buy it for the itinerary. even the worst food is better than what we typically get here at home.lol.

I have taken 4 cruises in the past. 1 with Holland America and 3 with Carnival. Holland America the ship was named the Veendam. GORGEOUS!!! With Carnival: Triumph, Valor and Glory. All pretty. But the Glory was the best. We had a balcony and the ship was great. I have already booked my next cruise with Carnival for next Sept. for me, my husband and my 4 kids on the Freedom. In my opinion, any cruise is great if you are with someone or people that make it fun.

My choice of those would be the Freedom, just launched and a great itinerary. My only concern would be that they might not be as smoothly functioning, as they are on the inaugural cruise
