In just one year and 1/2 i gained 21 kilos.I dont know how it happened. I went from being 52 kilos (where i was told by mom that i was on the border line of anorexia ) up to 73 (where i am told that i am chubby). I use to be fit. For somereason, i just decided to eat the things i want to eat and since then, it just kept on piling up.Although i am tall, i do look overweight. My family doctor laughs at me (i laugh at myself too) he tells me that i need to find my will power and get in control. Its very difficult.I keep telling myself that i will but it just never happens. My friends at school treat me differently.I do care about these treatments but overall i just want to be healthy and fit, they way i use to be; Where i would come first in a marathon but now i cant even keep up with the other kids in my pe class. How do i find will power. I dont want a quick fix, and loose the pounds out of deprivity.I want to live healthily. Whats the key to living heathier and longer?

Eat right, control your portions, and daily excersize.
Oh, and don't smoke, do drugs, drink alcohol, drive fast, fly in airplanes, or pretty much leave your house these days. (:

I'm not sure how tall you are but you should be aiming for a BMI of between 20 and 25 to be in the healthy weight range. To work this out you work out your height in metres and times it by itself. Then you take your weight in kg and divide it by this number. For me as an example - 1.70 x 1.70 = 2.89 Then you take your weight eg 64kg and divide this by the number. So 64 divided by 2.89 = 22.1. So, if you do this sum and figure out you are above 25 then you should start thinking about a lifestyle change. To start off with, don't decrease the amount you are eating but make a conscious effort to change the type of food. For example, brown or multigrain bread instead of white, rice crackers instead of crisps, lite milk, low fat icecream, low fat softdrinks and try to eat as much fruit and vegies as possible. Then start slowly with exercise. No need to run a marathon but take the stairs instead of the lift, walk instead of the bus etc. If you make these small changes, I feel strongly that your weight will slowly drop and you will feel and look much better. Good luck!

You are in school, so you can still be growing. therefore, don't diet.
You need to eat healthy, and exercise alot. You have pe everyday, but try to get 20 - 30 minutes more exercise 4 - 5 times a week - take a walk, jump rope, etc. You can get a couple 2 - 3 lb weights to exercise your arms.
It will take a while, but you will see results.

How about a sensible diet, with exercise. When you see something you want to eat, stop your self and make sure it is what you should be eating, and that you are eating at the right times. Living healthy is not just for today, but for the rest of your life. To many people go on a diet, instead of a life change. Meaning that they go on a diet and as soon as the weight is gone they go back to their old habits. I sure hope this helps.

What works for my patients is not eating after 5pm, drinking 10-12 8 oz.s of water every day, not eating fried foods, lots of walking and at least light excersizes 3 to 4 times a week, please keep thinking very good, positive and happy thoughts about yourself no matter what any body might say about or to you. It works!

If you exercise for 30 minutes every day after school you will start to slim down. Do cardio workouts (like running, or stairs).
