I'm having a rough day and need to unwind. Any suggestions as to what I should imbibe? Nothing too fruity, though. I think I need some hard liquor for a day like this.

Anyone who uses the word imbibe fluidly in speech or writing in my presence would be handed any drink she pleased.

If I needed a kick I would try Crown with a splash of Red Bull.

But a Grey Goose dirty martini with some Stilton Bleu cheese stuffed olives works well.

Or a Bittersweet Manhattan with classic rye whiskey and a dash of orange curaçao.

Your choice.

Well, I purchased a bottle of Johnny Walker Black last Saturday and look forward to polishing off the last half this Saturday. Cheers.

Thank you, dear, but I don't drink, unless you have some Earl Grey handy. The Twinings Earl Grey, not that ersatz stuff.
