Hello,

1) Our new covenant is with Jesus and the ripping of the veil in the temple when he passed away on the cross signifies this. God no longer punishes us like he did Israel when they disobeyed his commandments.

2) Many Protestant sects say that once you accept Jesus as Savior, confess in him and get baptized, reborn and all you are always saved. So after that therefore you are free to sell drugs, rape and pillage and lampoon the bible since you are always saved so what does it matter whether you reject fundamental bible thumpers now? You are still saved are you not?

3) God has given man both faith and reason so does it not seem contradictory that we must forever be blinded by allegory and believe such foolishness that Earth is 7000 years old, men walked with dinosaurs or only 144,000 get to heaven. Science and observation are obvious and knowing the secrets and mechanics of the universe will only complement God in future.

4) Who knows what the bible really teaches? Everyone running a church from the Pope in Rome to Evangelists like Swaggart or Hagee must have some smarts and post graduate degrees in theology. All the so called experts have differing opinions as to which interpretations are correct and now we have some 30,000 different Christian denominations.
Perhaps as the early Reformers thought a scullery or milk maid is best to be left to interpret the bible.

What you're leaving out of the equation is the fact that God punished Israel for its rejection, just as He said He would do. Everytime they rejected Him, they suffered; and, when they called out to Him, they were delivered from their oppressors. Coincidence? Of course not.

Why follow the footsteps of the ancient Israel people for rejecting God?They were punished by God, for your information.

If your friend robbed another man, do you follow him to rob also?

Or you know tht he is wrong, do you still follow the wrong way with him?
