They usually say midnight. Go with that.

Surgeries usually happen around 9am, so recommended, your cat is still allowed water, but food should stop around 8 to give it enough time to pass through the system. The process of neutering isnt very long, and actually takes about 15 mins roughly,

Give him some dinner around 9 or 10 PM and then pick up the water too. Then pack him up and take him to the vet first thing in the morning.

You should get some instructions when you pick him up from his surgery. He really won't be having any pain and still may not want to eat as he may be groggy from anesthesia for most of the night and be ready to eat again the following morning.

No food after 10 pm, but he can have water til an hour before going to the vet. Glad you're being a "responsible" pet owner. Good luck.

When is the surgery scheduled? They're supposed to be without food or water for 12 hours prior to anesthesia.

If I remember correctly, my vet said no food after 6 p.m. and no water after midnight, but I guess it would depend on what time the surgery is.
