Well, each year at my school, we have a different fair. the pattern is Science, Art, History, Science, and on and on. This year is History. I don't want to use Martin Luther King Jr. or Rosa Parks. I want a good person, that most 7th graders don't know.

Are you in the US? If so, how about Lewis and Clark? Tecumsuh? Simon Kenton or Daniel Boone? Amelia Earhart? Wilson Bentley (photographer of snowflakes)? Amelia Bloomer (inventor of bloomers, precursers to the first pants for women)?

Buzz Aldrin (Apollo astronaut/ Senator)
Chuck Yeager (1st one to break the sound barrier in flight)
Gandhi (peace through non-violent protest / India)
Jacques Cousteau (marine exploration/ conservationist)
Marlin Perkins - Jim Fowler (wildlife conservationist _ Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom)

I think it would be interesting to use a local person...maybe the founder of your town or city.

You could get information from your local historical society or library.
