My poor doggy has a cut (its small) but I dont want it to get infected-Is neosporin safe?

Im going to cover it with some cotton bandage, and im keeping a close eye on him to make sure he doesnt bite on it.

I believe it is ok to use.
Though, I would call the vet to double check that.
I used it before for a small scratch and it healed real quick.

As long as the cut isn't deep, you should do it. It may cause some discomfort, but sometimes you have to do what's best for the dog and not what you think the dog would rather have done. I'd call my vet, explain the situation and ask for a recommendation for an antibacterial ointment to apply when the bath is done. (I wouldn't use anything meant for people... we know better than to try to lick it off.) This happens to dogs who visit professional groomers too, so don't feel too bad. Next time, look around for a self-serve dog wash/grooming shop and see if you can get some guidance before and during your next attempt. If there isn't one in your area, call local groomers and ask if you can observe or maybe your vet could show you how to minimize the chances of this happening again. Good luck.

neosporin is safe for dogs
make sure teh wound is kept clean and if longhir I suggest cutting the hair in the area to keepteh dirty ahir out of the wound.

It should be but I would call a vet and ask. It may irritate the skin or make the dog sick if it licks and ingested it.

Yes it's ok to use just make sure you rub it in good and don't use too much ok.
