If your gums bleed EVERY time you brush, you "could" have gingivitis but you could also just have very sensitive gums. When was your last dental exam? You should have one AT LEAST once a year. The cleanings by a dental hygienist should be done AT LEAST twice per year. That's where gingivitis would be diagnosed.

In the meantime, try a softer tooth brush. Maybe yours is to firm/hard? Rinse with a good mouth wash. Brush less often, if you're brushing more than twice (morning and night) just for a week or so and see if that helps.

Do you floss? Flossing can make gums bleed if you're "sawing" and doing it incorrectly or just don't do it often enough. Again, you may just have very sensitive gums. Gingivitis can lead to tooth loss so DON'T risk that! It can be treated, but replacing teeth, well... don't even go there and start with the root canals, crowns, replacement crowns and THOUSANDS of dollars!

Make an appt with a new dentist and just ask for a "routine cleaning!" Then, while they're doing it, say, "You know, my gums tend to bleed just from brushing my teeth... what do you think is causing that?" They'll know immediately! Don't let someone send you to a specialist before you even confirm that you need one because it's like a mafia and they want your money! :-) Good Luck!

For a definitive answer about gingivitis go to a dentist. But if there swollen and tender it's a good chance. Keep up brushing your teeth and that will help. Most of the time gingivitis is caused by improper brushing.

All of the above, go to the dentist, have you teeth checked and cleaned professionally. They may give you a rinse or if it is severe they will put you on an antibiotic. You need to brush and floss daily and see a dentist for cleaning a minium of once a year. It will get better, but not on it's own. In addition, the infection from your gums can travel in your blood stream and cause a serious infection in your heart called rheumatic fever. This damages the heart valves and if left untreated can lead to death!

If your gums bleed, you should try to brush and floss each day - but do both gently. Brush in the morning and the night with a soft brush. You can massage your gums with your index finger to strengthen them also. If you gums are very sore, you can try to clean them better by rinsing your mouth with hydrogen peroxide - but you must spit it out! Or you can brush gently with a brush you first dip in hydrogen peroxide and then into baking soda - this will also help keep your gums cleaner and reduce some of the bacteria. You may need to have your teeth cleaned more than once a year, but keeping them clean and flossed and massaging them will help.

Relax sweety! You do not need to see your dentist immediately. Here's what you need to do first.
Change your toothbrush. when you're not using it, keep it either in a cup full of mouth rinse or hydrogen peroxide to avoid infection. use medium toothbrushes since the firm ones can be too harsh for your gums.
this is what you have to do: gargle with mouth-rinse (Listerine) twice daily. Do it religiously.

After a week or two, if you still see pink in the sink, then you need to go see your dentist. But for right now, do these things first.

Could be gingivitis, could be Vitamin C deficiency, could be you're using too hard of a toothbrush. Probably need to get to the dentist.

The reason you have gum problems is that you don't go for regular checkups. No one here can diagnose your problem. You need to go see a dentist. Take care of your teeth; I did, and after 70 years they're still chompin'. Good luck
