I'm trying to decide which company to work for as a pharmacist. I would like some feedback from patients who have experienced both good and bad from both stores. Any reasons why you like one over the other? Any complaints about either?

Thanks!

I know you asked for patients advice, but I am a pharmacy technician who has worked for both. As an employee, I MUCH preferred Kroger. CVS did not treat us well, and their bottom line was all about making money and getting as many prescriptions filled as possible. Kroger is a better company to work for, and was a much more enjoyable working environment.

Also, my father is a pharmacist, and he worked with me at CVS. When I left to go to Kroger, he stayed at CVS. Less than a year later he quit to join me, because he saw how much happier I was. I eventually went to work for a hospital to get more money, but he is still working at Kroger and still happy there.

Still, every store is different. If you can, talk to some of the employees at each store and see what they can say. No one will have a better idea than them!

CVS, most are not 24 hours and they pay more and the environment is nicer and Kroger is not everywhere like CVS is so if you needed to transfer to different city, chances are good that CVS will be in the other city too.

We don't have a Kroger's where I am in Florida, but I can only say positive things about the C.V.S. that we have here. They have always been so professional with advice about prescriptions and with helping to find anything in their store.. Good luck with whatever you choose..

Do you want to work at a high or low volume store? Generally, CVS tends to be high volume and supermarkets tend to be low. CVS is billions of dollars in debt.
