My mom was going through the garage last week and found my grandfather's old tacklebox... said it was mine, so I took it home and pulled everything out, and I've got one little treasure... it's an articulated brass (?) lure shaped like a fish (or he had jewelry in his tacklebox) about an inch and a half long, red glass eyes... beautiful, and I'm using it on a necklace now (no hook anymore).

Anyway, here's a pic of it... http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6kk6hl0&s=1

If anyone knows anything about it at all, I would greatly appreciate it... value would be nice to know but it's worth more than whatever it's worth to me.

Shoot, girl!!! If you ever returned phone calls, I would have told you to bring it over to the flea market on Sunday and I know a cranky old man who might be able to help!

Luv you anyway!

This may sound crazy, but it looks like a very small Ice Fishing/Spearing Decoy,(that's why it has so many different areas to tie to on the top; tied to a different "hole" it will have a tighter "swimming circle" & action).

Did your dad ever go North and fish the Ice?

I've seen similar decoys in 6"-12" size.

In Ice fishing/spearing they use them to draw fish/Northern Pikes curiosity,(look on EBay for ice fishing decoys).

Old decoys can be worth some "OK" money, but obviously it is priceless because it came from your Dad! Very cool necklace!

PS: It could possibly be an antique leader holder?
