Use live shrimp and a fluorocarbon leader.

The best spots are usually under boat decks at night, stay outside the light and cast across the light spot and make the shrimp "swim" into the light.

Reel in not too fast but constant twitching the rod tip to give the bait some movement.

Snook will stay outside these lights watching prey come in and only then going for the kill.

First of all, ask the locals for tips. I lived in Florida for awhile and when I first tried snook fishing I had no luck. Apparently, they have very good vision, so you have to use a clear leader. I used to use the wire leaders and never once caught a snook. When I started using monofilament leaders I caught them. Using cut bait like mullet works, top water baits arent bad either. Good luck.

PS-- That is the best tasting fish I have ever had. I was told to make sure to not leave any skin at all when you filet them, just a little piece of skin left makes it taste like soap.

Maybe the way your rigging your mullet or what have you is different than what these other people are doing. That or maybe the snook just don't like you... ;)

Good luck.
