What can I feed my parakeet as a snack?

Like what kinds of fruits, veggies, or other human foods do they like??????????

They love spray millet. They also like greens, popcorn, wheat bread toast. I had one who loved vanilla pudding. They love sweet corn. They usually want to try anything that they see you eating. My cockateil loves mashed potatoes, and mac & cheese, and popcorn. He wants to try anything that he sees me eating also. But be careful with the treats.

The Association of Avian Veterinarians recommends the following diet for a parakeet:

50% cooked beans, whole wheat bread, cooked rice, pasta, and seed
45% fresh broccoli, carrots, yams, spinach, dandelion greens, other green/orange fruits and veggies
5% eggs, tuna packed in water, well cooked meat

Parakeets are lactose-intolerant and cannot eat a lot of dairy product. Also, parakeets are HIGHLY allergic to chocolate and avocados and should never be given either. Junk food such as pretzles, potato chips, etc. aren't good for a parakeet either! You can feed a parakeet fresh fruit such as apples and cherries, but be careful about the seeds as those have toxins in them. Lettuce is fine, but it really has no nutrients in it. It's better to give them other, healthier

You can give them thinly sliced apples (without the sees, do not give them seeds of any fruits/vegies) , carrots, bananas, and eggs mixed with milk and bread. You can give them practically any fruti/vegie except for avacados, and don't give them anything oily, alchoholic, or chocolate. There is also special pop corn (no butter or salt) you can buy at pet stores which you give to birds, mine love it a lot.
