im shooting a cooking show of my friend for the first time to show on the internet. how do you achieve proffessional looking lighting? i have metal industrial lightbulb do we need one of those reflector things? any advice would be appreciated weve never done this before but want it to look nice. Thanks

You're on the right track You'll need to illuminate from both sides so as not to get strong shadows on the face, and don't have the lights too high for the same reason, use reflectors/diffusers so the light is gentle on your chef's eyes.

the normal lights used are blondes and red heads

blondes are 2000w and reds are 800w, use dedo spots for any highlighting

use at least one key, one fill and one backlight

search lighting maps or diagrams and go from there..........i cant teach moving picture lighting here - to much to it
