The pope recently said that pharmacist has to use conscientious objection when confronted with someone who wanted to have either a birth control pill or the abortion pill filled, say a women who came in to the pharmacy who had been date raped but was afraid to go to the hospital or tell her parents and went to get the abortion pill but the pharmacist would not fill it for her

I understand the conscientious objection of the pharmacist, but frankly, that person shouldn't *be* a pharmacist. Afterall, some religions (Christian Science) prohibit *all* medication, and should their rights as pharmacists be protected, such that they wouldn't fill *any* orders?

It's kind of like an environmentalist who gets a job as a mechanic, but refuses to work on cars because they pollute.

The pharmacist is not being persecuted if he is not allowed to refuse service to patients.
